Hi all--
Just heard that not only is the light at Westwood and Detroit out, but the heavy Saturday traffic is treating it as a free-for-all. The rule is that when a light is out it's treated like a stop sign -- four way stop sign-- but you are allowed to miss many questions and still pass that driver's ed written test. Maybe people didn't learn that one and aren't practical by nature.
That's one of the weird sideways intersections that really needs a light so BE CAREFUL. Best idea, AVOID IT ENTIRELY.

Why isn't a City of Lakewood police officer directing traffic until the street department can put up temporary stop signs for safety? Police must be busy looking for drivers holding a cell phone to give a ticket to for revenue. The street department and the vast majority of city employees and department heads are out of town because their homes are in different cites due to Lakewood's high property taxes and mediocre school system.
