Ethics Commission Refers Investigation of Councilman to Prosecutor While...

Postby Brian Essi » Mon Oct 21, 2019 1:15 pm

...another councilman is also involved in the investigation---so much so that Sam O'Leary's law associate (the law director for that city council) can't comment on the Public Corruption Case. In his campaign literature, Sam O'Leary says he is a "municipal attorney" and claims he has given advice to city councils.

Was O'Leary part of advising that City Council that is in the thick of a municipal Corruption Case?

Here is an excerpt from O'Leary's law associate:

"Law Director David Matty -- when asked whether [Councilman] Rose’s council votes regarding a municipal project managed by a client of his law firm were inappropriate or represented a conflict of interests -- referred the question to Rose.

Matty said he can’t comment because Rose’s votes took place in the same timeline as those of Councilman Jack Petsche, who has been under investigation by the Ohio Ethics Commission and who has been asked to resign by City Council."
