Fire On Mars And Athens Closes The Streets
Shortly before noon Lakewood Fire was called to the 2000 Block of Mars Avenue. just south of Athens.
As of right now, what the thought process is was a first floor kitchen fire out of control.
Quickly it got in the walls and the fire grew. You can see the heat was so hot it melted the siding on the house next door.
Lakewood Fire got there quickly, and got control of the fire.
You can see the damage to the 2nd floor porch.
Even an hour after getting there a flame would start up. Here under the second floor porch again.
The good news, no one was hurt.
Finally they got it out and started to relax, while they inspected the house one more time.
Once again great work Lakewood Police and Fire Department. Great communications, friendships and practice pay off again.
