Re: Another Business Leaves Lakewood
The City of Westlake and Crocker Park are aggressively seeking business of every kind and size. While they like the big names they are also wooing small, local startups.
A young friend of mine has a small landscaping/apparel business called Everarbor. (INSERT SHAMELESS PLUG HERE: http://www.everarborco.com/) He was contacted by Crocker Park and asked to open a Kiosk. They gave him a great rate. They told him they wanted local business to give Crocker a small town vibe.
The City of Westlake was offering financial support in an effort to convince the Beck Center to open at Crocker. The City has the money and the desire to take on any business that is available. Westlake was is also welcoming University Hospitals, Metro and the Cleveland Clinic.
How does this compare with the conduct of the City of Lakewood?
The business mentioned in the article is just the kind of business that was supposed to be locating at the development at the Hospital site. Does the company know something?

We all knew this. It was just 13 years ago they nearly wooed Beck Center to Crocker Park, with an amazing deal.
Another story the Lakewood Observer broke.

If you remember the deal was nearly done when we let it out of the bag.
