One Actual Example:
It was an entry in Kevin Butler's public calendar dated October 27, 2011 that read as follows:
"10:00am - 11:00am "Competent, credible evidence": WTF? (Law
Dept) - Butler, Kevin"
So, Kevin Butler used his public office to assert "attorney-client privilege" over that calendar entry.
The Court's Order concerning the same: "Law Director’s calendar - pg. 96 - The notation of “(Law Dept.)” indicates that this is related to the city of Lakewood, and it is not clear that it is covered by client counsel privilege. Resolving doubts in favor of disclosure, the court disallows the redactions and orders it released."
Was Kevin Butler just using his public office to hide some embarrassing language he used in his calendar entry or was he concerned about something else that happened on October 27, 2011?
Is this really a big deal?
Well, consider the fact that dedicated career attorney at the Cuyahoga County Court of Appeals and three Court of Appeals Judges likely had to spend some of their valuable time as public officials to analyze this entry and write a portion of their opinion on this entry (and hundreds of other entries).
And consider the time Kevin Butler took do this "times X number of other entries".
Now, ask yourself, if he would assert "attorney-client privilege" this for this entry and consume public resources on something this trivial that conceals no real important information, to what lengths will Kevin Butler go to keep other non-privileged important public activities secret from the public?

Time for people to ask themselves, "What if everything City Hall and "their supporting groups" were saying was wrong, and they knew it?"
Despicable.
