Mr. Christmas(Bill Hixson) Has New Book And Ornaments

Postby Jim O'Bryan » Wed Nov 07, 2018 12:01 pm

While everyone is waiting to see the new Christmas Ornaments at Hixson's 14125 Detroit Ave., we got a sneak peek at not just the new ornaments for 2018 but an advance copy of Bill Hixson's latest book, "Christmas Traditions in the world," due to be on the shelves a week before Thanksgiving. Bill's newest star, "Hixson's Barn" ornament/miniature has already been selling at a rapid rate. Up until this week he had one on the counter, and people kept demanding to buy it!

Not only is it a miniature of Hixson's right down to the Raggedy Ann doll, it also features Mr. Jing-A-Ling in the store. Mr. Jing-A-Ling has been one of Hixson's favorite ornaments and figures since they were first introduced.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame also appears in this year's new ornaments, with many others and favorites from the past.

Bill Hixson-- Mr. Christmas-- stands in the ornament room with the latest edition. Surrounded by thousands of ornaments of every type and description, it is easy to understand how he has become known as Mr. Christmas.

Seeing him relaxing in the Christmas Gallery surrounded by figures from Cleveland's past holiday history, like figurines from May Company, Halles, Sterling Linder, and Higbees, really brings home just how good he is at being Mr. Christmas.

The new book is a fascinating read for anyone who loves Christmas. Mr. Christmas takes us around the globe, explaining various traditions, fables, stories, legends and making it both fun to read and something to share with the entire family. I for one had never heard the story of the Christmas Spider and Web but found out it is a huge tradition in some countries.

Also Bill has broken up the Christmas Gallery to fit in with the book, making a separate place for each country and tradition!

But that is just one large room. The ornament room still has ornaments for everything from Halloween...

...to Transportation and more.

Stop by Hixson's this holiday season for gifts, ornaments, figures, buildings for your mantel, or just to touch base with friends and family in a place we all go during the holiday season. Nothing says Christmas better than a trip to Hixson's.

You can see all the new ornaments, sections and tons and tons of other stuff in these 100+ images of Hixson's 2018 here:
