2 Car Accident Ends Up In Storefronts And Closes Detroit Ave.
Just before 10pm two cars were involved in an accident that ended up going up and over over the sidewalk into some storefront windows. This happened on the south side of Detroit Avenue, across from Lakewood Fire Station number 2.
One of the drivers was speaking of an ongoing altercation with the other driver. This was merely overheard, and cause of accident not know at this time.
One driver being tested.
At this time it is believed no one was hurt which is lucky considering where the cars ended up and the popularity of the area for walkers and bar patrons.
Good work Lakewood Police and Fire.

The hot rumor in the bars on the West Side of Lakewood is...
A patron was leaving one of the bars in the area in a 800 horsepower Dodge Challenger Demon "Hellcat" punched the gas and lost control.
From the Car and Driver article.
Base Price: $86,000
Power: 808 or 840 hp @ 6300 rpm
Top speed: 168 mph
Zero to 60 mph: 2.3-2.6 sec
Displacement: 376 cu in, 6166 cc
Again, this is merely the rumor on the street and I put it out there as it contradicts both the road rage story, and that this was going on down Detroit.

We used to do 28mph-- just right to fit in. Maybe this hot rod was a little overpowered for a Detroit Ave. bar cruise.

Stan
The more I read about these cars the crazier it gets.
The rumor was he jumped on the gas, and... possible to get wheel spin, some smoke, and instead it hooked up. Of course if one wheel hooked up and the other didn't off it goes. If one drive shaft breaks and the other doesn't, off it goes.
We shall see.
