Lakewood Junior Fire Chief Connor Coleman Arrives In Style!
Junior Fire Chief Connor Coleman arrives at Emerson School.
Each year Lakewood Public School students submit essays on fire safety, the winner of the contest becomes Junior Fire Chief!
The entire school goes outside to honor Coleman.
After driving around the city with the fire fighters in their truck, blowing the horn, with full sirens and flashing lights, Junior Fire Chief Connor Coleman steps off with trophy in hand.
Connor posing with the firefighters that brought him here. Firefighters Andy Miller Doug Brodke and Joe Medwid.
Then he does a lap of all his friends getting high fives from all.
Connor allows one last photo with the firefighters before going off to school. Fire Chief Scott Gilman, firefighters Andy Miller Doug Brodke and Joe Medwid, and Fire Inspector Tim Dunphy.
On a serious note, this is a great event teaching fire safety to kids, and making us all aware of the great things our firefighters do besides saving lives.
As we move into Fall and Winter check your fire detectors, wall plugs and outlets, and be safe around your fire place and back yard fires.
