Here we are at the end of summer, with the traditional end of summer event Lakewood Community Festival just around the corner. It has been an amazing summer once again with many highs and lows, but so is the nature of life. Lakewood continues on, and on and on. New Superintendent, New Assistant Superintendent, New restaurants, new basketball hoops, new family health center. We also loss two of Lakewood's beloved things, Nora Swift, and the finally closing of what had been our downtown anchor and healthcare anchor, the Lakewood Hospital. Still Lakewood continues on. See you at the Community Festival, and Spooky Pooch Parade registration open for dogs now!).

Thank you again to all the advertisers especially the restaurants that are signing up for long runs with the support both Lakewoodites and the Lakewood Observer give them. Don't forget send in your review of a Lakewood restaurant with the bill, and if it appears in the print version of the paper, Foodwood will pay the bill!

As always thank you to a wonderful staff of volunteers that work very hard on sharing the stories and the love, and respct of others and themselves that together we share for this city. I believe this is our 338th consecutive issue in this long running project. Thank you to all.

peace/love

Big thanks to all the writers, photographers, editors, and sponsors that make it happen.
Props to Jacob Chabowsky for covering the St. Ed's story!
