2 in custody after armed carjacking on Halstead, gun store burglary attempt, car chase, crash

There was a car-jacking on Halstead last night, that lead police on a chase with the car jackers crashing and running. One adult and one teenager were arrested the third person is still being sought.

Perhaps carjacking is also protected free speech in Lakewood?

We could imagine that Law Director Butler might argue: "don't folks without cars have a right to express their anger at those that have cars? As long as the car owner does not run after and catch the carjacker, no crime has been committed..."

The trend is for criminals to steal someone else's car. Then use it for a smash and grab. Then abandon the car.
