Issue 2 out on the street

Postby Jim O'Bryan » Mon Jul 11, 2005 3:05 pm

Issue two hits the streets today. The paper got here at 1:00pm and by 4:00pm almost 5,000 had flown out the door.

But we still need more help delivering.

Call or email today.

Jim:

I delivered 300 copies to homes on Belle, St. Charles and Marlowe between Clifton and the tracks, along with Clifton, save the north side between Belle and St. Charles.

It took approximately 90 minutes between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Several people commented that they really like the paper.

One young woman said the Webmaster is her friend. That's Dan Ott. She was proud. More good vibes, a front porch at a time.

Ken

Steve Davis and I got another 2,000 on the streets yesterday. Concentrating on the stores and advertisers.

Could everyone delivering please email what they have done back to me?

As we move closer to getting one to every house in Lakewood, we need to not duplicate efforts.

GOOD VIBES

Everyone has embraced the work that everyone is doing with this paper. Last night at the Captain's Game at Lakewood Night at Classic Stadium in Mentor the paper was available at a couple locations. Comments that I really liked hearing were, "You really did it, this is a proper hometown paper, that everyone likes." said councilman and LO member Denis Dunn. "Have you seen our new hometown paper?" Jane George, wife of our mayor Tom George.

As I have said, the paper is a monster of goodwill and good vibes. While handing them out people are anxious to get them and read them from cover to cover, people are now stopping known members on the street asking how they can get involved. Newest member Frederick R. Parham 5th, yelled to me driving down Detroit and I pulled over to talk with him. He has so many good ideas I begged him to sign on and start writing.

What started as a dream between two, grew to five. Eight months later the dream is being realized by over 150 members/volunteers, and a whole city.

Thanks again for trusting the process.

OB: When I went to Heinen's and the Bin, they were already stocked. Also Mike and Rhonda Loje are delivering Clifton Road.

Be mindful of not getting too many issues sucked into the black holes of drinking establishments where people don't go to read!

Steve we have started keeping list as required by one of our associations on dropped off and unread picked up. The list is pretty interesting, as in some bars 1 or 2 were taken, in others over 50! As i mentioned before walking into McCarthy's and Johnny Malloys would see many people reading them.

We are not looking serously at ways to get them to EVERY home in Lakewood, and can see a couple answers that could get us there.

But you are correct beware of "over saturating" any place.
