There was no reason to do anything sketchy and then he did something sketchy.

Is Fitz running his campaign? Will there be phony newspapers?

I'm tired of this sick culture in City government.

Not the only place or person Sam O'Leary is avoiding.

We need to get City Hall back to serving the people, not the friends and supporters.

Right now, the county Democratic Party endorsement is a negative (Dan O'Malley is unopposed). Lakewood candidates should be wearing non-endorsement as a badge the same way some do their F rating by the NRA; the same way the LO did when it was banned by City Hall.

If some of the names in that story sound familiar, it shouldn't be a surprise.

Karolyn Isenhart is the former head of the Lakewood Democratic Club. Under her leadership, the club attempted to purge Tristan Rader and other members a few years ago.
Isenhart also led the club during the 2015 endorsement process, when Summers was endorsed while Mike Skindell was conveniently out of town.

"Payday" Puente managed Tom Bullock's disastrous 2018 State Rep campaign. A die-hard party hack, he also did field work for sexual harasser Martin Sweeney during his State Senate campaign.
Anything for a buck, right?

Cindy Marx's name also popped up. She played a role in having Mike Skindell purged from the party Executive Committee this past winter.

Speaking of the mayoral election, I noticed that Meghan George doesn't mention the hospital issue on her campaign page. Does anyone have any insight on the reason why?

I have no particular insight or knowledge, but I would guess that she has nothing to lose by not including it because most of the people who are aware the situation will vote for her anyway,. Meanwhile she will only lose some votes by talking about it. Also I've never heard her take a stand on it one way or another, but that may just be personal ignorance.

To me the "hospital" issue is long over but the malfeasance of our elected officials must be resolved sooner or later. It's a matter of seeking justice.

Honest government by the people for the people.

The hospital is gone, but residents still deserve the truth. Lakewood historical time line deserves the truth.

And the people that lied, mislead and squandered our future for their needs, should never hold office again.

Seems easy enough,

Actually Brian, all of the backroom crap was carried out by the “establishment” Dems. As far as I can see, the CCPC Lakewood contingent is making inroads into the old order Dem institutions and is pushing for more accountability, transparency, and a more forward looking agenda. As you see, the old establishment Dems don’t like it and are trying to keep them from gaining ground.

They hate to lose their cozy, corrupt little gig.

In case anyone needs clarification:
"The definition of CCCP is as the abbreviation for the full name of the Soviet Union in Russian (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). An example of the CCCP is the name for the Soviet Union before 1991."

Funny, Dan, we read that differently!

I assumed Brian was talking about the Progressive caucus and inadvertently transposed the letters.

Perhaps your interpretation was more accurate!

Knowing Brian, I'm sure the reference was to USSR. He'll be around to correct it if it isn't, but I suspect he also sees similarities between CCCP and Progressives.

Comrades Alaimo & Conant,

Surely the CCDP must be "colluding" with the CCCP--how else could they have learned to engage in such un-democratic behavior?
