MEET THE AUTHOR:
The Baby Thief by Barbara Bisantz Raymond

She invented modern American adoption, commercialized it and corrupted it with secrecy by falsifying birth certificates–a practice that continues to this day. Listen to first-hand accounts from her victims and consider Tann’s influence today. The Baby Thief was named a Best Book of 2007 by Publisher’s Weekly and a 2009 Summer Pick by the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Books will be available for sale and signing.

LPL'S WEB SITE FOCUS: The Friends of Lakewood Public Library
The Friends of Lakewood Public Library deserve special recognition for their donation of time and energy. They sort, price, shelve and assist patrons during their book sales. They volunteer an average six to nine hours a week—some as many as twenty—and they are the folks who make the book sales possible.
The income made at the Friends' book sales goes to supporting the Library. The Friends currently support our free programming and assist with the children’s summer reading program. In addition, they supply many books, DVDs and CDs to the library collection. In a single month, they recently donated approximately 3,000 items, valued at over $6,000.
