Mark Wade Stone presents selections from Doris O’Donnell’s Cleveland, the Emmy award winning TV series on Cleveland history produced by Storytellers Media Group.
Did they have the right man all along? Sam Sheppard’s account of the early morning hours of Independence Day 1954 is reconsidered using modern techniques.

LAKEWOOD—THE MAKING OF A STREETCAR SUBURB
In just thirty years, Lakewood transitioned from a small, rural community to a thriving city with new residential and commercial districts. Mazie Adams, Executive Director of the Lakewood Historical Society, explores the development of Lakewood into a streetcar suburb. The population boom between 1890 and 1920 led to new subdivisions, new commercial buildings lining Detroit and Madison, the creation of major utilities services and streetscapes as well as the construction of churches, schools and municipal buildings.

Edd Zauber and the Magic and Mystery of China
Magician Edd Zauber will excite and entertain us with this unusual show filled with the mystery and magic of China. Mr. Zauber has been a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians for years. He taught magic and publishes an international journal call “The Illusionist.” In this program he promises to share some of the many inventions from China, such as silk, paper and umbrellas, and show us how these everyday things can become quite magical. Join us for a fantastic show filled with audience participation, fun-filled mysteries and classic magic to delight all ages.

Established in 1994, the Lakewood Library Foundation seeks philanthropic support for the growth and success of the Library. It's a non-profit charitable organization which operates for the exclusive benefit of the Lakewood Public Library.
