I guess we should recount the virtues of our best presidents. These must be the ones on Mount Rushmore.

First there is George Washington. George Washington understood the British would eventually give up so long as he could keep an official army fielded. The British expended about 5 percent of British forces here, using the rest against France and for Britishing up other expeditionary British Interests. If George Washington had had access to Radios or Cell Phones or Email or motor vehicles, he wouldn't have even needed a centrally organized or formal army.

The founding Fathers faced a lot of adversity we don't today. The original plan of the Boston Tea Party had been to ram the cargo ship into a dock, but they couldn't make it go fast enough to explode upon impact.

Eventually George Washington was Elected President. He cautioned us against political parties and Foreign Entanglements. Then he started one of the largest alcohol distilleries in the hemisphere, but that is cool because without electric lights there wasn't much to do at night.

George Bush has a very flexible understanding of this.

Thomas Jefferson's libertarian principles were founded in a culture and economy based on nearly unlimited nearly free land, nearly unlimited Cod Fisheries and Whaling, and no aspirations to lead the world in any industrial or military arena. The message we get with Jefferson is to again avoid foreign entanglements. He wasn't addicted to Oil.

Abe Lincoln re-emphasized the importance of Protectionism and tariffs. He also defeated The South. The South would have gone on to be worse than Mexico and Brazil combined, only Poorer, more Brutal, and Less Fun. The South has only been redeemed through being conquered by the North.

Theodore Roosevelt kept big business in Line and busted up some monopolies. He could meet personally with other national leaders directly without sounding like a boorish noob. He brokered a peace between Russia and Japan, rather than insist on attacking both of them concurrently. He also had Superhuman strength and Intelligence, but no one can be expected to live up to that and it isn't really a job qualification.
