Two Dads Restaraunt

Stopped in there today and ran into dl Meckes and Bill Grulich.

dl will report on their meal separately.

I want to talk about the best onion rings I've had in a long time. They were battered and fried and scrumptious. My burger was cooked just right and served with a piece of romaine lettuce, purple onions and tomato. The dill pickle was crisp and juicy, not one of those back shelf soggy messes you usually get.

The lovely John Kamkutis, the ceiling sweeper from the school board, covers the front logistics and his business partner covers Woodstock, in the back, for the food production.

Highlight for me, besides dl and Bill of course, was seriously messing with John who gives as good as he gets. I truly enjoy messing with him.

Food - A
Company - A plus
Ambiance - Oh wait a minute isn't that the store for lovers?

Parallel parking - F -.

Go visit with John, enjoy the food, spend money and help a great new Lakewood business succeed.

Bill loved his burger and I had a veggie platter. After we had inhaled our food, we had cassata cake for dessert. They brought us the biggest piece of cake I've seen in a long while. I think the plan was for us to share half and save half, but we managed to make the whole gargantuan piece disappear in moments.

The menu is a lot bigger than I would have guessed and the recipes more sophisticated than their names let on. Ingredients were strictly fresh.

We'll be back - I want a real milkshake - and there are more menu items to discover.

You won't go away hungry from Two Dads and I think most diners will be quite happy and satisfied with the food.

Thanks for posting, Sharon!

Frank Zingale prepares excellent food, and John Kamkutis could not be a better host!

Dl and Bill give a good summary of the menu. And, "Two Dads' Diner" has replaced my usual morning hangout as you can buy a superb breakfast with coffee for a very, economical price! You simply cannot beat the "Two Dads' Diner" breakfast deal.

I look forward to reading more about the "Two Dads' Diner" in upcoming Lakewood Observer articles and LakewoodAlive e-newsletters with ribbon cutting ceremony photos galore. After all, "Two Dads' Diner" is an authentic Lakewood business.

"Two Dads' Diner" also has a Facebook Fan Page which can be viewed by clicking here.

I went to 2 Dad's for the 4th time today and was still very impressed!

My favorite items so far are the fish & chips and the buffalo chicken sandwich.

2 thumbs way up for this place.

I will keep going back until I have tried their entire menu :)

Having been involved in so many different levels of food and beverage, I always like to give a place some time to work out any bugs, and get a feel of a place before jumping in.

Over the past two weeks I have had two dinners and one breakfast at 2 Dad's Diner.

Though there are some very small blips, the food was excellent, as was the service.

Three must have items.

1) Calamari
Image
Calamari from 2 Dads Diner. This might be the finest tasting dish in the entire city.
The Calamari was perfect and the balance of garlic, peppers, tomatos, caramelized
onions, chopped cherry peppers, and red pepper was insanely good. Covered in a
balsamic glaze, it is one of the best things I have ever eaten in this town.

2)Chicken Paprikash
Image
When I asked John and Frank what they wanted to be judge on they both answered
"Paprikash!" It was indeed tasty, tender chicken home made spatzels, with salad.
Comfort food that sticks to your ribs.

3)Fish Fry
Image
Easily one of the best fish frys in town.

Also if you are there in the morning, try the pancakes, with real blueberries.

To John and Frank, thank you for setting up in Lakewood, nothing better than locals
chasing their dreams. I think we will see Guy Fieri back, to say, "Man this is money!"

Good luck

.

I was also there tonight. (Nice to see you again Rhonda...) I took my mom with me, along with my family. My youngest had the children's grilled cheese sandwhich w/fries...LOVED IT!! My oldest had the children's spaghetti and he loved it as well. the portion was huge and the 2 meatballs were the biggest I have seen. My mom had the Irish Egg Rolls, Grilled Chicken Salad, and the Veggie platter. She was very impressed and LOVED it. She called me when she got home to tell me how good it was. My husband had the Mediterrainan (spelling?) Chicken...loved it and I had a gyro. SOOOOO GOOOD!!!!!

My only complaint...Too much food. So really not a complaint at all. I was highly impressed and plan on visiting here alot.

Jim,

Rumor has it that since your article in the most recent edition of the LO hit the streets, “Two Dads’ Diner” has been packed.
