Great simple appetizer

Postby J Hrlec » Thu Jan 10, 2008 10:50 am

I found a quick appetizer recipe online and tried it a couple weeks ago...it was awesome and thought I would post it here:

Jalapeno Popper wrapped in Bacon

INGREDIENTS
10 jalapeno peppers
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
10 bacon strips, halved

DIRECTIONS

1.) Cut peppers in half lengthwise; remove seeds, stems and center membrane. Stuff each half with about 2 teaspoons of cream cheese. Wrap with bacon and secure with toothpick.

2.)Place on a broiler rack that has been coated with non-stick cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until bacon is crisp. Remove toothpicks.

Serve immediately.

P.S. I made a couple variations to the recipe... I did not have to use toothpicks and I carved off the extra fat on the bacon to make it crisp faster while cooking for about 30 minutes on a cookiee sheet.

Yum

But then again, pretty much anything with bacon (the crack cocaine of smoked meats) would cause my mouth to water.....
