Beck Cafe's Red Stage - Nice

Postby Jim O'Bryan » Wed Jun 23, 2010 10:15 pm

Tonight we moved the Lakewood Observer Board meeting down to the Beck Cafe out on the
patio. Was a hot night, and we were looking for refreshments.

As the meeting wound down an old friend, schoolmate and Lakewood guitar maestro Jeff
Sherman came walking up and mentioned he was playing tonight so we stuck around.

What a nice night listening to acoustic music on the patio.

Check it out. Lakewood done right.

A nice friendly crowd with guitarists and patrons coming and going.

Ken Metz and Jeff Sherman take their turn open mike night. Both have been professionals
for decades, to here they play and have fun without paying, a real treat.

Stop by check it out. Support the Beck, the Back Cafe, outdoor dinning, street cafe kiving,
and local musicians. Does it get any better?

I doubt it.

Beverages, food, and music, on the patio, and under the trees. Excellent! Oh, and the Tiki torches are a nice summery touch.

Just more good stuff on Wednesday nights in Lakewood.

Dunkin Donuts drive through has had such a impact on The Beck Cafe that he was fearing he
could not keep the effort going, which would be criminal. Paul Sykes' Beck Cafe and his collaboration
with Cindy Einhouse and The Beck Center is spectacular.

So to give DD a run for their money Paul has implemented "The Beck Cafe Tiki Coffee Bar" during
rush hours in the morning. Simply call ahead, or drive up and get a cup of great coffee for $1.00!
If you call ahead you can order pastries danish, etc.

Nadhal Edeah orders up a cup of joe from Paul himself!

Funny how we want stuff then we do not support it.

The Beck, and the Beck Cafe are both more than worthy of our support and patronage.
Great patio, good music, good coffee, surrounded in over $100,000 in art you can buy,
or just enjoy, bubble tea, Paul burgers, and The Beck!

I think it would be a real defining moment in Lakewood when we choose DD over The Beck.
The day the Big Box doughnut shop killed our arts district. Talk about building a brand!

How about a Kumbaya bubble tea summit at the Beck's Cafe? What are the cafe's hour? Anyone else interested in meeting?
