The Cleveland Clinic's successful effort to kill shoreway and lakefront development should disappoint and anger residents of the lakefront area.

Access to the waterfront for recreation, dining and living has revitalized cities througout the world. Local area politicians have decided to turn their back on that potential and instead concentrate development along a two hundred mile streach of freeway.

The only lakefront development now being planed is the $1 billion dollar relocation of the unused and unnecessary port of Cleveland.

Oh well...

Hi,
I like it. Proof it doesn't take must to really turn an unused are into a usable desired area. We visited Lake Forest, IL (See http://www.panoramio.com/photo/9833586 ) and the had a cliff along Lake Michigan (like Lakewood does) and the created a beautiful beachfront park. That (and Boston and Burke Lakefront and others) were some of the foundation sites that got Savannah thinking what could be done for Lakewood.

We spent the evening at Lakeview Beach in Lorain. I had never been there, but it won't be my last visit. It was wonderful!

Isn't it a shame that you live in a City (Lakewood) with five miles of coastline but you have to leave town for a day at the beach.

I love the floating stage concept. It reminds me to the Point Counterpoint II designed by Louis Kahn. A floating music arts center used by the American Wind Symphony Orchestra, it holds an art gallery and converts into a stage on which the symphony plays.

It's genius.
