Thanks for the link Grace. I was expecting turn-out to be rather low. This article is very encouraging that I'll be wrong.
I think it's so important that people vote, no matter who wins in the end. Voting is key.

Seen a man standin' over a dead dog lyin' by the highway in a ditch
He's lookin' down kinda puzzled pokin' that dog with a stick
Got his car door flung open he's standin' out on highway 31
Like if he stood there long enough that dog'd get up and run
Struck me kinda funny seem kinda funny sir to me
Still at the end of every hard earned day people find some reason to believe

I will assume that is the total for all four precincts, 1 -A, I, J and O. Although its still early, that polling locating has a 3, 195 registered voters and they are probably not taking into account those who have voted absentee.
Since I live in 1-A, I know that usually comes in pretty heavy in the morning.
BTW, the Primary numbers indicate that 495 votes were cast for these four precincts.

Quoting Springsteen's "Reason to Believe" is quite appropriate in this case. It aptly captures how we can rationalize a 24.6% voter turnout in Lakewood as an actual reason to believe (10,306 total votes for mayor; 41,900 registered voters in Lakewood).
I read that Springsteen performed this song while in Cleveland last week. It's one of my all time favorites and my children insist that I sing all four verses every night before they go to bed.

I was just looking at the Board of elections Results Summary from 2005, which was the Council at - Large race, it indicates that 28.59% of the voters cast ballots for a total of 12,069. (42,208 Registered voters)
Now the report from the Primary indicate that there are 43,819 registered voters.
It will be interesting to see where all the numbers land, I expect Mr. Anderson's number of 10,306 will go up.

Get Nebraska. The entire LP is great but "Open All Night," "Reason to Believe," "Atlantic City" and "Nebraska" are my four favorites. I have the tape in my car (CD/cassette stereo combo) and "Open All Night" is another that I must sing for my kids before bedtime.

You're right, the 28.59% figure you came up with is likely more accurate. Perhaps it will crack 30 or 32%. Reason to believe ...
