Lakewood Congregational Church is holding a Rummage Sale, May 13-15, to benefit its Youth Mission Trip Fund.

The sale will feature household items, toys and games, holiday decorations, furniture, dinnerware, books, CDs, DVDs, VHS movies and more.

Please note, LCC is not selling clothing, with the exception of shoes, purses, fashion accessories (such as belts and scarves) and jewelry.

Cashiers will accept cash, credit cards and debit cards and also will have the ability to accept Apple Pay. No personal checks will be accepted.

Lakewood Historical Society's City-Wide Scavenger Hunt Begins

Test your sleuthing skills as you navigate Lakewood to find unique architectural details! Join the Lakewood Historical Society on its 7th annual National Historic Preservation Month scavenger hunt.

Beginning May 15, participants can download a list of clues from the Lakewood Historical Society’s webpage, or stop at Rozi’s Wine House or Lakewood Hardware to pick up a form, to begin a search for twenty architectural details hidden within Lakewood’s urban landscape. This year’s theme is columns. Search Clifton Blvd., Detroit Ave., and Madison Ave. to find some often overlooked architectural details.

Submit completed entries to Preservation@LakewoodHistory.org or bring them to Rozi’s Wine House or Lakewood Hardware by May 31 at 7:00 p.m. Entries with all correct answers will be entered into a drawing for a free membership to the Lakewood Historical Society.

Indian Cuisine: A Vegetarian Meal Cooking Demonstration

Good Company: a Vocal Ensemble Presents ALTARcations

Join Good Company: a Vocal Ensemble, for ALTARcations, a concert celebrating love and the life of our beloved Founding Director, Karen Weaver, 1957-2016. Guest artists, the Amethyst String Quintet. Members Jena Root, Jennifer Scolnick and Patrick Wickliffe will conduct. The 30 voice ensemble will perform the world premiere of a newly commissioned piece by Lakewood born composer, David Conte. Other selections include Bach’s Jesu meine Freude, Whitacre’s Five Hebrew Love Songs and works by Mooney, Applebaum, Scolnick and others. Free will offering. Cuyahoga Valley House Concert

Ed Caner has performed as a sideman for over 50 major acts. He is also a founding member of his own band, Hey Mavis. Each month, Ed invites guest musicians to perform with him in the cozy Hines Hill Conference Center.
