Screw Factory Artists' Spring Open Studio Night
5:00 PM - 9:00 PM
This Spring, we are moving our usual May Open Studio to a new date and time: Friday, April 11th from 5-9pm.

Cure cabin fever with a visit to the industrially beautiful Lake Erie Building and spend the evening with the Screw Factory Artists. We’ll have our studio doors open to show you our work and workspaces. This is one of only a few opportunities all year to see us, and the first time in a long while that we’ve had an evening event.

Be sure to stop by the Templar Motors Factory Display to meet 9 of the Templar cars which were produced in the building between 1917-1924. They are the reason the entire building was built.

Opening Reception for OH, Letterpress Exhibition at Morgan Conservatory
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Please join us for the opening reception. Experience artisan letterpress from across Ohio, enjoy light refreshments and meet the artists.

Through ink rollers, gears, and a little elbow grease, the Morgan Conservatory presents an invitational exhibition of Ohio-based artists and printers utilizing the letterpress process in a contemporary era. Linked by an appreciation for the versatility of these precision machines, this selection of printmakers, type casters, designers, and traditional letterpress printers invites you to explore the ways in which an old technology can be made new.

This exhibition celebrates the current renaissance of an analog printing process and the innovations of its Ohio practitioners. While print shops were closing their doors and purging their equipment, these enthusiastic individuals have dedicated themselves to maintaining the craft in hopes that it will never die. From old school printers to the mechanically-savvy folks who have found a voice through letterpress, this exhibition shows the inherent value of hand-printed ephemera.
