Did you know that only one out of every five elementary-aged children is read to in the home?

Cleveland Reads is seeking volunteer tutors to work with children or adults. A free, three-hour training is provided to teach techniques and skills necessary for tutoring. You will then be referred to one of 100 literacy programs in Cuyahoga County that need your help.

Building Literacy Skills in Children will be held Thursday September 11th from 5:30-8:30pm. Contact Volunteer Coordinator Jennifer Frigolette at 216-436-2116 or jfrigolette@uws.org to register for this free training or get more information.

The Junior Women's Club of Lakewood, a philanthropic organization that sponsors annual fundraisers to benefit Lakewood organizations, seeks new members who are interested in serving their community while having fun and building friendships. All women are welcome to the Open House.
