Lakewood Art Walk
The Art Walk is designed to help small business grow in addition to supporting the local arts. The Lakewood Art Walk will house more than 30 Madison Ave. businesses. Each business will house at least one visual artist, and many other forms of arts including musicians, dancers, and performing acts. The Art Walk will run from Riverside through 117th on Madison Ave. From 2pm-4pm children and their families are encouraged to participate in the sidewalk chalk creations. Businesses will have chalk on hand for children to create their masterpieces on the Madison sidewalks. From 4pm-9pm will begin the Art Walk. Visitors will not want to miss this one day only extravaganza. Map information and updates will be posted on www.popshopgallery.com

NASA Glenn Research Center Open House
The NASA Glenn Research Center is hosting an Open House at its Lewis Field campus in Cleveland, Ohio on May 17th & 18th, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Explore the frontiers of air and space, where scientific research becomes the foundation for everyday applications. Our enthusiastic staff will guide you through world-class facilities and show you the technologies behind some of the nation's greatest innovations. You'll even see the work we're conducting to return America to the moon, including parts of Ares I, NASA's new rocket. Each event will feature activities for kids. And it's all free! A festive evening honoring West Shore Chorale founding member and former Lakewood Mayor, Judge Robert Lawther. Based on the hilarious film starring Peter OToole and Mark Linn-Baker, My Favorite Year is a warm and nostalgic musical comedy about growing up. With a bright contemporary score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens (Once On This Island, Ragtime, and the recent Beck hit, A Man of No Importance), My Favorite Year centers around a 1950s Sid Caesar-like Your Show of Shows, with King Kaisers variety hour, Comedy Cavalcade. Show times are 8:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays. There is no performance on Sunday, May 25. There is a special Thursday evening performance on June 5 at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $28 for adults, $25 for seniors and $17 for students (22 and under with I.D.). Discounts are available for groups of 13 or more. Rush tickets for students (22 and under with I.D.) are offered for $10 each on Sundays only, 30 minutes prior to curtain, based on availability. To reserve tickets, call the Beck Center Box Office at 216-521-2540. Beck Center is located at 17801 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood, just ten minutes west of downtown Cleveland. Free on-site parking is available.

Marty Willson-Piper(of The Church) - Marty Willson-Piper's career has led him through membership in such seminal and influential bands as The Church, All About Eve and The Saints, to an illustrious solo career.

Critics have raved that Marty's influence on guitarists is profound. Endorsed by California's very own Rickenbacker Guitars, Marty was asked to open the 75th Anniversary of Rickenbacker in 2007 by John Hall, Rickenbacker's owner.

Marty is constantly cited as a seminal influence on generations of guitar players and has written songs with or for Grace Slick, Susannah Hoffs, Linda Perry, Charlie Sexton and Aimee Mann as well as working on albums with Roger McGuinn, Jules Shear, Brix Smith, David Gedge and Rob Dickinson as well as an impressive list of Productions and sessions as musician, writer and vocalist.

Marty is about to release his 5th solo studio album entitled "Nightjar" and has released 2 live solo albums as well as 2 albums as the "Noctorum Project" as the lead singer, guitarist and writer. Tickets are $15.00. 9pm.
